“Tips for Preventing Social Isolation for Older Adults”


The public is invited to attend NYU Winthrop Hospital’s free program, “Tips for Preventing Social Isolation for Older Adults,” on Thursday November 29, 2018 at 6:30 PM, with registration at 6 PM (refreshments will served).  This program will be held at the Hospital’s Research and Academic Center, 101 Mineola Boulevard, Room G-018, Mineola and is designed for older adults and their adult family members and friends.

Speakers Alan Steinberg, MD, Geriatric Psychiatrist and Fran Greene, LCSW, Relationship Coach, will discuss the effects that social isolation can have on an individual’s health, as well as useful ways of communicating with others and fun tips on how to feel more comfortable in new social situations. A question and answer period will be included.
